Pinky's Passed Down Family Sour Dough Starter Has Crippled Him
The Diablo sour dough starter (which was used at least as far back as the Gold Rush) has crippled Pinky. There are 750 gallons that must be divided and processed every other day. Pinky doesn't have time for anything else, and he can't seem to sell the bread (it has a slight footish odor to it). He goes on fermenting and baking to continue the family honor. Since he has no children, this is the end of the line for the historic yeast.
