No. gentle reader, this is not a Pinky koan--it has an answer:
Last year at the state fair Nadine insisted on picking up every jar off the winners' shelf and inspecting the bottoms (Pinky imagines for bugs). When she reached up to a high shelf, she pulled the whole display down on top of her and a visiting group of wheelchair-bound seniors. They were all covered in broken glass, blood, chow-chow, and various other relishes. Thanks to Nadine's antics, there are now Hands Off signs everywhere. Nadine feels the signs are a personal attack on her. This year she spent the whole fair sullenly standing in front of the displays telling everyone, "I wouldn't eat that chow-chow if my life depended on it!"
